maybe stupid, DIY Intake question

i did the DIY last night on our late 99 7.3. when i removed the factory air cleaner box, there was some type of sensor in the box. not talking about the filter monitor thingy.

i removed it (obviously) but scratched my head trying to decide what to do with it.

do i drill a hole into the 4" pipe and reinstall it? do i just leave it laying there? what is it?

Just leave it there I zip tied mine to the intake tube. It is only the Ambient Air Temp Sensor. Don't unplug it don't remove it, don't drill a hole and put it in the intake tube. Just get a big zip tie and attach it to the intake tube.
