Torque Converter Question

I'm in need of a new torque converter and someone has one available from a 2000 7.3 that he pulled to replace with an upgraded unit when the truck was new.

I've read that ford has updated the TC to the 6.0L unit but with the 7.3 front plate and that's what they sell now when you buy them from the dealership.

Is this correct? If the new one from the dealership is an upgrade over the stock one from '00, I'll spend the extra cash and wait for it to come in. If it's not correct, I'll go ahead and pick up the used-new one from the '00 and save a few bucks and a few days delay. I also read that sometime in '01 or '02 they updated the TC to a triple disc instead of just the single, any confirmation on that?

'02 F250 7.3 CC/SB, 301k. Boost, EGT, Fuel Pressure Gauges, 4" DP + Magnaflow Exhaust, 75PSI Fass, Fuel Bowl Delete, Bellowed Up Pipes, MB Quart 480 Amp, MB Quart PVI216 Coaxials F&R, Alpine Amp, RF 10" Sub.

Cab off overhaul at 301k. 6.4 Torque Converter, Refreshed 4R100, Powdercoated Oil Pan, 203* Thermostat, Coolant Filter, New ZD11s, Rebuilt Turbo, Complete O-ring replacement.

We have a 6.0 converter thats a direct replacement..good for 400+ HP, PM me if I can help.

Anyone have any info on the stock TC upgrades throughout the years for these?
