Finally i have found my ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well after a long search and saving all my pennies I have found my ride its a 2000 F-350 7.3 cclb. So now i must start the quest of making sure that its the best it can be so i have a billion questions but i will start with this. As the rig has 156,765 I am going to have it checked out and serviced what is a fair price to change and replace fluids and filter for the oil and trans there is a newer diesel place that i was referred to by what i would call a part time friend but anyway. I call the guy and he said that it would start around 300 and could not give me a def price which worries me because of the horror stories that i have heard and read about. So if any help would be outstanding. Thanks in advance. She get delivered tomorrow so i will put so pics of her as soon as get her well after take her out for a ride.

$300 probably isn't that bad since these trucks hold a substantial amount of fluids. But to start there could be a bit high. I do the work myself and normally pay around $75 +/- 5 for an oil change and I know when I did the trans service it was $100 just for the oil.

Coolant is probably one if the most neglected fluids on a 7.3 so be sure to have that checked.

Welcome to the org!

around here they want:
oil change $100
tranny flush $140 - $200
coolant $??

make sure tehy use EC-1 rated coolant. i like the CAT ELC, its stable and you dont have to check SCA's nearly as often.
