New to me.
Picked my 02 F250 last month with the 7.3 in er and love her so far. I work with diesel's at work as I assist with a mechanic working on heavy equipment. Got a few questions about this one, when I start it up in the morning it puffs a little puff of blue smoke and all set. Doesn't smoke anymore. I've heard that thats normal and also heard it could be the rings. But it still runs great and runs 20psi of boost all day no problems. Also my transfer case is leaking a little bit, ive heard that thats a sealed unit and has no gasket? Ive been on here before but never had a diesel so i figured id ask a few questions. I appreciate it in advance for any answer you guys might have. Heres a pic of the ol rig.

Congrats on the Great Looking Truck: I wouldn't worry about the little bit of blue smoke... Love that lift...
Only advice I have... 1. Good Name Brand Oil{Many to chose From}--Change around the 5K mile mark 2. Good Name Brand Oil Filter{Ford-Motorcraft}-Many to chose from 3. Keep your fuel filter Changed between 10K-15Kmile mark 4. Keep Air Filter Changed-Very important--{Dusted Turbo Sucks} I would start from the front and work your way backwards and change ALL fluids.. including Powersteering and Brake fluid.. Both very easy to flush... Do all this before winter... Check you coolant if it has green? Check your SCA Levels!!! My advice but I am very anal... Do a major flush... Add a coolant filter and switch to Red ELC coolant... Pour it and and forget about it for 300K miles... Your water pump will love you... I could keep going but I will stop there... Others will chime in... that will get you going in the right direction... Great looking Truck... Get ready to shake the Money Tree!!! These are addictive.... Just don't go crazy with the High HP and Torque Tunes... Best place I found... once I brought my 01 home was this awesome site... http://www.superdutypsd.com/ Spend some time there... One more thing... Make sure your 2 batteries are in good shape as well as your glowplugs and glowplug relay for this up coming winter... Last edited by SyN; 10-19-2011 at 05:47 PM.
