INTERCOOLER BOOTS BLEW

THIS WEEKEND I WAS COMIN BACK FROM THE LOCAL SLED PULL AND ME AND MY BUDDY WERE FEELIN A LITTLE FROGGY SO WE PULLED BESIDE EACH OTHER AND STOPPED ON IT. I STARTED TO PULL ON HIM A LITTLE THEN I HEARD A LOUD POP AND A TON OF SMOKE WAY MORE THAN NORMAL NEEDLESS TO SAY I ALMOST POOPED MY PANTS I THOUGHT IT WAS SOMETHING REAL BAD. PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SAW THAT THE DRIVER SIDE BOOT ON THE INTERCOOLER BLEW OFF PUT IT BACK ON AND WENT HOME. WHAT CAUSED IT TO BLOW OFF. IVE RAN MY TRUCK LIKE THAT BEFORE WITH NO PROBLEMS. I WAS PUSHIN 30 LBS OF BOOST AND THE TS WAS ALL THE WAY UP. IS THERE ANY THING I CAN DO SO THIS DOESNT HAPPEN AGAIN ALSO IS THIS A COMMON PROBLEM

Yeah it happends all the time, Be glad you didnt split the boot in half. Take some hairspray and spray it on the pipe then slide your boot back on. it will hold it really well.

Do the CCV mod if you have not, also I still blew boots so I ended up welding a beat on the IC tubes to prevent it...

Besure that everything is good and clean and dry before you start spraying hairspray. Then it will need to sit for a little while and let the alcohol dry.

I suggest you get high performance boots. I got ones from turbonetics on my truck. I tried replacing the boot with a stock one. I tried the hairspray and everything else to keep it on. Nothing worked. Since I went to the turbonetics boots. I have not had any problems.

Aftermarket boots here too, and aftermarket clamps...

sounds good to me i already did the ccv mod but the truck already had a 100000 miles on it when i did it and had the oil seeping around the boots but ill just get some better boots and clamps
