Red face Fuel Gauge

Im new to the site and to powerstrokes but I bought a 2000 f-250 with the 7.3 and 160K miles the other day and the fuel gauge is stuck on full any segestions?

Welcome to the org! Some guys say hit the tank to knock the float free. Never works for me. I think if the sending unit in the is has a bad ground the gauge always shows full.

Get a big rubber mallet and start wacking the side of the tank as hard as you can. This will usually free the float, if not drop the tank and fix as needed.

Fuel tank guage

Thank you guys any chance you know where that ground is located? Ontop the tank or what and what happens when I drop the tank a whole new sending unit or is there a (cheap) easy fix for the float?

ps no luck on beating the tank
