Cooler weather ops..

Well, its finally getting cooler here in Oklahoma overnight. This will be my first winter with my PSD. I have noticed the EBPV closes shut in the mornings after about 3 min...then it starts hissing. Whenever I just let it idle, it will continue to do this, but as soon as I touch the throttle, it cuts right off. That normal? or should it stay closed until the engine gets warm no matter if you touch the throttle or not? Thanks in advance!

From my experience, it should open when you give it gas. Trust me, the truck is almost undriveable with the EBPV closed. If it closes while driving, the truck falls flat on it's face. Mine would stay open when I was trying to warm the truck up, and would close when I started moving. Huge PITA, so I disconnected it

thats pretty normal. when you give it a lot of loud pedal it should open up. but do take it easy until its warm... remember even if you idle and warm your motor your tranny is still cold.

So to elaborate,...the EBPV is either ON or OFF right, its dosn't stay partially open/closed while warming up?

When rpm's reach 2000 the EBPV opens no matter how cold it is. When rpm's drop back down it will close and remain closed until the truck warms up to operating temp. No worries all is working just fine.
We start getting these threads this time of year. But usually it's

Yeah..I knew it was normal...kinda sounds cool with straight pipes! But no matter if its 3 min or 10 min after startup, as soon as I tap the thottle...BLAM! ..it goes off. Of course, its not gotten really cold yet (sub 30's) but I'll see how she acts then. Why would you want to delete it anyways? I am guessing that the colder it gets, the longer it will want to stay closed, even when driving? And that the reason it opens as soon as I touch the throttle at idle is because its only like 50 degrees now, and its not needed?

I deleted it cause it's friggin annoying... from the sound, to the power loss, it was leaking oil, and I got tired of people asking what was wrong with my truck.

My last truck I deleted the ***** and noticed it was pretty slow to warm up, my current truck with it still intact is still very slow to warm up. lol.

I don't think they do that much.
