Tire Prices

Had a blowout yesterday, thats when i found the jack wouldnt lift the truck. So im calling around today for 2 tires and its gonna cost alot more than i figured. So far $464.02 for 2 tires mounted, crap thats more than i payed for 4 tires on my last truck, these are stock 265-75-16 also.
Does this sound about right?

Yea, I was surprised to find the set of 4 I bought this summer was $1,000

These were at least "top tier" Michelin AT/2's (285's) 10ply. But DAMN, $212ea. + mounting/balancing/tax/etc......

Glad I'm not the only one that thought tire prices were getting ridiculous. I paid $1,050 for my last set. 275/70-18's

Maybe he is putting on these tariffs to get rid of the big-bad-fuel-using-non-hybrid-scary-loud-polluting-trucks? I am now fearing buying tires when the time comes. I do still have a set of 35/12.5 Trail Grapplers with only 5k in the back-yard! On a cracked rim (hated the 18's) so as long as they stay o.k. I will be happy!
