You will get mixed reviews.. In all honesty I'd never take one unless it was free, or dirt cheap lol.

7.3=legendary, proven, reliable..

From what I gather on the 6.0, doing an EGR delete and ARP head studs really help with the reliablity in a big way as they are the common blow up points, but IMO it's still a crap shoot. You know what you're getting with the slow reliable 7.3, and although the 6.0 power and refinement may be tempting, it is a bit of a risk. On a side note, those autos bolted to the 6 are supposed to be worlds better than the 4r100.

my 6.0 never had any big problems but little sensors. i would have to go to the dealer every other week, litterally. i too want a crewcab but would never trade a 7.3 for a 6.0. i am not scared to go across the country in my 7.3, anything out of state was out of the question in the 6.0.

The 6.o can be modified to be a very reliabe and strong engine. But I would want to do all the mods myself so I know they are done right. My wife thinks I am crazy when I told her if Ford wanted to trade me straight across for a brand new 2012 truck. I told her I would tell them to pound sand. Only you can decide if this is worth it to you. The guy has already done some of the major mods to the truck.

i was talking to my dad about the two trucks he runs his business with , and he said : i would never let your mother go out in the 6.0 i have no faith in the truck... even when its running good im waiting for the bad.

the 6.0 has got my dad thinking he will never run a diesel canteen truck again

I used to own an OBS 7.3 and loved it. I was in your same shoes when it came to the 6.0 and wanting a crew cab. I went for it. If you want to REALLY LEARN about the 6.0 and what it's weak points and strong points are, then go to the 6.0 forum and talk to the people who actually own them, rather than getting an opinion here from some guy who's dads brothers uncle knows a guys friend who owns a 6.0 and it's "junk"!

Just my $.02
