Will a 2wd trans be useable in my 4wd truck?

nope. tail is different. if its a freebe or something, then maybe you could get a shorter driveshaft? dunno on that one...

Thanks Matt! By tail you mean what? Sorry, I have very little knowledge on these things. Also would be able to use anything off my old trans to make the 2wd one work for my truck?

the housing is different. the 2wd has a longer tailshaft or longer housing.

someone wth more tranny expirience will probably post in a bit. as far as complications with the truck computer, thats another possiblilty. hopefully someone else will chime in.

It will work if you leave out the transfer case and get a longer drive shaft.
