HPOP leak question

Hello everyone,

This is my first post on this forum. I have used search, but my question is a little different from what I could find. So here goes.

I have a 2003 E350 van and its leaking oil out the back plug of the hpop. With the engine cover removed, I can see it dripping when it is running. Its a straight shot to the plug, and with a 2-3 foot extention, I could reach it from the cab. My question, is there any reason not to remove it from the cab to replace the o-ring? Its really going to be alot of work to remove the fuel filter bowl etc. And thanks for your help.
