NEED ADVICE

if anyone has any advice this is my situation. Had a problem with my 03 7.3L Turned out to be an injector. after two months the same injector went out. while at the shop the mechanic ended up bending a rod. this happened when he did a test crank on the engine. at first he was going to swap the enigne, but since he cannot find one he wants to just replace the rod. any recomendations???? thanks in advance!

Sounds to me like you had a ghost injector failure caused by the IDM...that can happen, it will continuously says that the #8 injector is not functioning properly. However as far as your shop situation goes, I don't care what the money situation is for them, they worked on it they are liable for the damages, more than likely just to get your truck running again, not replace the entire motor.

Which injector? It could be the UVCH itself, (Under Valve Cover Harness) or it could be as simple as the CPS sensor. What were the actual codes? The CPS sensor frequently makes the #3 and #8 cylinders read bad even though they are working fine. Did the mechanic run a buzz test?
