Boost psi

after installing my gauges I took it for a run 0 psi at idle and at 20 psi @2400rpm it was blowing the plastic hose off 4 times in a row!!!!... well everything is closed tonight sooooo I crazy glued the hose into the rubber fitting (temporary fix) I need to make a T using a compression fitting like on the back of the gauge...

anyway my Q is I can only get about 23 psi max no load or anything.. it hits the 23 fast then the needle shakes and shimmys a bit but goes no higher.. is this normal 23psi @ full throttle??? its a early 99 with the superchips if that matters

does anyone know what size the hose off the map is so i can get the fittings and the plastic hose size too so i can get a compression fitting

yeah prolly would.. an edge would give it a noticable difference in power and smoke(if thats ur thing, i know its mine ) and a custom one prolly would too. and u can find MAP Foolers just about anywhere at a diesel performance site. they r about 80 bux or so. they have them at blackclouddiesel.com i know for sure, thats where i got mine.

Anything over 25 can be self defeating. The stock turbo is only designed to run 25 max anything over that and you are out of it's map not to mention just making HOT air.

More boost does not always mean more power.

JMHO...

Early 99 = smaller turbo = lower boost #'s = 23 ain't bad.

I hit 28 at WOT for a few seconds, more commonly run 25-26psi.
