Putting a 97 7.3 into a 99 truck?

Hi guys, I'm new here and have some questions about a swap I'm thinking of doing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a 99 that needs a motor. Will a 97 work if I put all the external stuff from the 99 onto the 97 motor? Both are standard transmissions BTW.

Sure. intake plenums, manifolds, uppipes, turbo, plug the mechanical fuel pump hole on the top of the motor, few other things but why not.. a friend of mine just did it on his 01 truck put a 97 international in it.
