So I just got my first diesel on Friday. It's a 2002 F350 CCSB Lariat
Super Excited!Introduction thread with pictures here: My first Diesel... 2002 7.3 F350 I have a couple of issues I need to get addressed ASAP... Security & Mudflaps!! Help/Advice/Solutions would be greatly appreciated! 1 - Security Have a club for the wheel. Ordered a Viper 5901 alarm, currently in the mail. Should I consider a Fuel Pump kill switch or something along that line??? 2 - Mud Flaps I'd like to avoid being pulled over for this BS... I've been searching online but haven't had any luck finding removable mud flap kits. Can anyone direct me to some decent but not pricey ones??? 3 - Speedometer My speedo is way off. Which makes sense b/c it's sitting on 40's. Are there any options for correcting the speedo??? On my Jeep it's simply a matter of putting in the correct size speedo gear... 4 - Gauges I've seen a bunch of people say Autometer or Isspro are the only way to go... Anyone know of any deals or packages, ideally w/ the A-pillar??? 5 - Stereo Speakers and deck are aftermarket, but it needs a little more bump. Couldn't find any good write ups on boxes or different types of setups. Any recommendations on how to do subs in a crew cab? 6 - Things I need to inspect Supposedly the oil was changed by the PO 1,500 miles ago. Other than that I know nothing about any of the fluids and whats been done. Truck has 110,000 miles. Any recommendations on things I should inspect? Problems to look for? Stuff to flush/change? I'm kind of overwhelmed by all the options of stuff to do to these trucks, so steering me down the right path would be much appreciated! |

I have a viper as well, it came on the truck and is my first alarm so I don't really have any knowledge of them. I have thought about a hidden kill switch but have not got around to it. I am more worried about the stuff inside being stolen then the actual truck. There was a thread started recently about antitheft mods you might want to check out.
I can't help with the mud flaps or stero. The speedo can be fixed by the dealer or someone with ad I believe. I have not ever corrected mine, just compensate for it. Check out the vendor part of the forum for gauges. There are some that have three and four gauge a pillar kits. If you don't have documentation to show when fluids were changed I will consider changing them all. Oil tranny coolant riffs ps fuel most are on 30k intervals so they would be due for it. With all of that being said welcome and have fun. There is alot of good info on here. Learn to use the search function and it will save you lots of time and $$$$. |
