What do I really Have

My 99 is very weird. The name on the engine says International but if I run the VIN# it tells me Theres a navistar in it. Who do I belive?

navistar is the company that builds the engines for international so technicly you have both LOL

i believe they are the same company, as in "International Navistar".

I believe it is the other way around. International is the parent company of Navistar. It really does not matter though. Because the 7.3L is a great engine.

Internationl harvester became NAVASTAR,about the time they stopped making Farm implements. Wen it's all shook out, International inc. WAS International Harvester, Yrs ago a semi by them slang was called a "CORN BINDER" Anyway its all the same companiey
In fact if i remeber correctly (I could b wrong here ) International Harvester went bank rupt and reopened as Navastar or they adopted that name 4 there engine division....
