A/C colder in town than on the freeway

So we finally had a couple of warm days up here (when I was here and not in Hawaii) that required me to use the A/C. Today was about 88f and humid, so I took my truck out to run some errands and I noticed that my A/C has been colder putting around town than on the freeway, I know that's opposite of how most guys have it, but mine seems to be doing just that; odd I know. Anyway, the clutch doesn't "seem" to be disengaging and re-engaging, but it's hard to tell at 70mph. It still blows cold up at speed, just not as cold. Has anyone ever had this problem?
