Diesel Kleen vs 2CY Oil
What's the difference when adding to your fuel?
I'm a newbie..

diesel kleen has additives that actually boost the cetane level(google that one..) and 2stroke oil is simply lubrication for your injectors.. this fuel is way dry and the 2 stroke does a good job of lubing it up its good stuff...

I just put 20oz of 2 stroke oil in my truck today and man does it pur now. Once the oil started run through I could immediately notice the difference in how quiet it became. I'll be using 2 stroke from now on, and plus I'm a college student so I don't feel like paying the extra money for diesel kleen.

what ratio are you supposed to put in of that 2 stroke

I've heard of putting in a qt per tank fill up.

I think DK also helps keep the fuel lubricity up, but I think 2 stroke does a little better job of just that. I've run DK for a while now, it's good stuff for sure.

I've heard 1oz to 1 gallon. But I only put in 20 oz this time and I'm pretty sure I have a 38 gallon tank. But I did notice a difference so I'll probably just stick with 20 oz.

Usually 1oz / gallon. If you're close to 32 gallons, like AlwaysStrokin' said, a quart would do.

I run about a quart to a tank full and man it really made my truck run smoother and quieter.

I don't recall where I got this info from

This meets the most strict requirements requested by the Engine Manufacturers Association. Products 1 through 9 were able to improve the unadditized fuel to an HFRR score of 520 or better, meeting the U.S. diesel fuel requirements for maximum wear scar in a commercially available diesel fuel. Products 16 through 19 were found to cause the fuel/additive blend to perform worse than the baseline fuel. The cause for this is speculative. This is not unprecedented in HFRR testing and can be caused by alcohol or other components in the additives. Further investigation into the possibilities behind these poor results will investigated. Any additive testing within +/- 20 microns of the baseline fuel could be considered to have no significant change. The repeatability of this test allows for a +/- 20 micron variability to be considered insignificant. |
