My "new" 2000 F-350 dually
Just picked this up last Friday:
![]() ![]() 2000 F-350 Powerstroke, 6 speed manual, 4WD, crewcab, long box. She runs and drives nice. I was suprised at how nice the ride was. I had been led to believe that they rode rough, but it's no worse than my Toyota 4Runner. It currently has an error on the ECU related to the Exchaust Pressure Control Valve that I'm looking in to (folks say to clean the EBP sensor and tube). What is the general starter system failure mode on the 7.3L engines? When hot, occasionally the starter won't spin but I can hear the solenoid clicking under the hood. I haven't tested the batteries, but when the starter does spin, the engine turns over fast. Is it probably the solenoid or starter itself? Do all the '99-2002 dually trucks have factory lift blocks in the back, or just the "off-road package" trucks? If the stock ride height causes a problem for the 5th wheel RV trailer I have, can I remove the blocks and change out the U-bolts without messing up anything? |

Fixed the EBP issue by cleaning the sensor (it was completely plugged) and the fitting it screws in to. Blew back through the hard line, and disconnected the batteries. The error is gone.

Very nice truck and good to hear you got all that stuff fixed. As far as the block's, ya you can take them out and lower the truck. I wouldn't lower it more then you have too though. If you can get away with replacing the block with one half its hight I would do that. Also remember that you trailer will probably squat your truck some anyway.

Well the error was gone, but it came back. I'll try to find out if the EBP tube itself is rusted or not.
