2000 F-350 7.3l beep code
I'm getting four beeps ever few seconds for a couple minutes when starting my F-350 with a 7.3l engine. Is there any way to figure out what's causing that without an ODB scanner? It's the weekend and I'm out of town, so don't have a mechanic available.
All the fluids look fine and the engine runs great. Supposedly the crank position sensor was replaced but the ECU wasn't reset. Would that cause the beeping and engine check light to be on even if the engine is running fine? |

Found one out of four bolts at the turbine side of the turbo between the tgurbine and compressor housings was missing completely, and one was out and lying on top of the center section. Was able to reinstall the one, will see if a Ford dealer has another correct bolt tomorrow.

Had to use an allen bolt as a temporary substitute. The local dealer said the correct bolts where a special Ford part and they didn't have any in stock. Should be good enough to get me home.
Any idea on the beep code? 4 beeps repeating every few seconds for a minute or two, "check engine soon" light is on, truck runs great. The owners manual made it sound like "check engine soon" usually means an emissions problem. |

When does it beep? All the time, or when driving? I know if a door is ajar (or the switch thinks it is) or the parking brake is set (enough to turn on the dash light) the buzzer will "ding" several times (never counted how many) when the vehicle begins to move.

if you figure it out let me know. mine does the same darn thing. start up a few seconds later beep, beep, beep, beep. then a few minutes later beep, beep, beep, beep. and again and again.. funny how it does it i have to turn up the radio to blur out the beeping noise. lol

ODB scanner showed P0478: Exhaust Pressure Control Valve High. From what I've read, need to clean the EBP sensor.
The 5 beep pattern would stop after a couple minutes and then repeat itself every 30 or 45 minutes like clockwork (was on a 300mile trip home). |

Five beeps is a problem with the airbag system.
