boost numbers

I have a 02 psd with 4''ex, banks 6gun,and k&n filter. I see about 15psi? is this right or what do i need to do?????? Thanks Turbotruck

if its a 7.3 i think thats about right. i know mine gets up to about 15-20 with the same stuff, cept an edge tuner instead. from what i hear if you put a strait exhaust on it you wont get as much boost as from when you where stock, which held true for me if thats what you where wondering about. when my truck was stock i saw 24 on my guage at WOT

Actually that should be higher. 15psi is more like stock boost. I really don't know what a 6 gun will boost too, but my superchips on the highest hp program will get me 28 psi. Does the truck run fine? No black smoke? If its running rough and black smoke you may have a boost leak.

I run about 28 psi under full load and throttle. 15 seems low. Prior to my programmer, I would see about 23-24 with MAP fooler and programmer usually 28, but have seen 30 a few times. Just my two cents.

If your truck seems to be running fine then check your boost line to the gauge and make sure its not kinked in anyway.

Also check your boots and up pipes, they are a really common area for leaks. I'm not a fan of the Banks 6 gun on a 7.3 but hey run what you have until you can afford different right? IMHO you should be in the 19+ range with what you have.

Y'all are talking about when you're working the engine hard, right? Just cruising around, my boost gauge (on a 7.3) shows no boost and only around 8-10 on the freeway. I haven't paid enough attention when towing, but I don't think it's gone higher than 12 psi. Maybe it's the 4" Magnaflow exhaust? I usually run with the Super Chips tuner in Tow-Safe mode.

Yeah you really need to have a load on the engine to get it to boost or really lay the throttle on. I have the superchips 1705 and with my mods I can get 25-26 on tow safe and 28 on the extreme tune.
