I am fixing to make the DIY intake. I have read about how the ccv goes into the intake. Should I do the CCV mod and route the lines to the back of the truck. Could this harm the engine in any way? What is the purpose if any? Just want to know. Is this recommended by all diesel mechanics on the 7.3? Hope to hear from you'all. I'm still learning about the diesel thing. Also is the stock vent through the intake hurting anything as it is? Thanks

The ccv mod will stop all the oily residue and gasses from being piped back thru the turbo and inner cooler. I did mine and still to this day(8 months later) have no build up around the turbo boots under the hood. Ive got mine run to the back bumper. Looks like a lil exhaust at night with the amount of smoky mess coming out of it. lol.

CCV Crank Case Ventilation Modification. What you do is the Crank Case Vent lines going into the Intake are rerouted to the back of the truck. This prevents dirty air contaminating clean air in the intake. This removes the oily residue from the inside of the intake system. |
