99 Exhaust

So.... Tomorrow I am picking up a 99.5 F250. I noticed today there is no cat on the truck. I am assuming some came with and some came without? It has a muffler. After I get it running right (ICP, Crank Sensor, and year old diesel) the muffler will make its way to the trash. I might put the MBRP muffler from my 6.0 system on. My 6.0 hasnt had a muffler or cat for about 1.5 years. Guess there is no reason my my 7.3 should be subjected to such a thing as a muffler.

Mine had a cat on it at one point and time and one of my buddies had 2 97s and they both had cats but another buddy has a 2000 and it came with out a cat. the 7.3s sound real sexy straight piped lol just not as much turbo whistle as the 6.0s

Very weird. Yea, this is clearly stock but has no cat. Oh well, two less cuts and welds!!!

I believe all OBS trucks had cats. e99 "supposedly" all had cats, but I've seen them with out them. after that all the SD trucks were catless till the hp bump for the 02-03 manuals. those trucks had cats. IIRC thats how it stands.

My truck- Late 99, build date 2/99. Mine had no cat from factory. I think it was kinda like an eni-meni-miny-moe method of determining which truck got cats and which did not

My 01 manual had a cat. 01 also had the HP bump though.

My friend has an 01 manual and his had a cat as well. Kinda weird how they pick and choose which trucks got them.

I have an E99, '00, '01, & '03 and the cats seem really hit and miss, I think it was more regular on the later models...

my 02 auto never had a kitty, and the 99 manuals didnt.. it was so random at best, dumb epa lol.

4/99 build stock no cat just a big muffler
