Exclamation computer completly wrong

i have a 02 7.3 powerstroke and my mileage and miles left till empty thing is completely wrong. i have stock tires and stock gearing. is there any way to reset this or how can i make it correct?

Ignore it, they are usually wrong and if you put any tuner/chip on there it will be even more wrong! mine says I am getting 24 mpg Yea I wish!!

haha apparently i get 1000 miles a tank and i am getting 99.9 mpg. pretty dam good!

where does that thing get its info anyway? is there a fuel consumption sensor somewhere? or is it making estiamtes from the computer based on throttle position and such?
