The stock turbo will not make enough boost to hurt you. EGT's should be no greater than about 1300 or so, only for very brief periods.

more boost will make the EGT's go up, so as long as your EGT's dont go to high, bump the boost on up, and yeah 1250 is perfect.

dont limit your boost with the programmer.....limit your EGT's...with your foot or your programmer. boost doesnt matter with a stock turbo on a 7.3, you cant build enough boost to hurt anything......as long as you dont push your EGT's above 1200-1300 max sustained....preferably around 1100.....then there is no problem...........Marc

i dont think brand matters one bit.......just run a four inch from the turbo back, downpipe included to get maximum gain......Marc

Anything over 18....

On the stock 7.3 turbos if you get up over 16 to 17 your asking for some trouble. I have litterly seen them torn in half! Not nearly as strong as the 6.0 turbo but much more reliable!

sorry jon, not to disagree with you in a personal way...dont take me wrong..... but a wastegated turbo is capable of a lot more than 16-17. if your seeing them torn up, its not due to the boost, but do to the exhaust gas temps, which means too much fuel and not enough air. a 7.3 turbo is capable of safely going well over 20 lbs of boost, and honestly, you can not harm one with just boost alone...it takes high EGT's to really do damage.........Marc
