What oil to use

Its time for my first oil change in my 7.3 powerstroke. The dealership put the motorcraft oil in it when I bought it, but I am not sure what to put in it now. Should I stick with a regular rotella T or go with a synthetic, and what weight should I use.

Agreed: Rotella T6 or if you want to spend the money AMSOIL.

I am running Amsoil CJ-4 15/40 @10K intervals and LOVE it.

If you don't want to go the synthetic route, Delvac is supposed to be a great dino oil.

Synthetic.

It will start easier and run better in the cold. I have NO problem cold-starting at -25*.

Do I need to run a different weight for the winter than what I run in the summer?

Not really. I run the 15/40 all year... but it's synthetic so it doesn't thicken up like the dino does.

The rotella t6 is a 5w 40, is that ok to run all year or do I need to run a 15/40 weight?
