Polarbear's Platinum (New Pics)

I don't frequent the 7.3 forums very often since I got my 6.4 and have started building it up. But since I have done quite a but of work to my 01 Platinum and I don't talk about it much, I figured it needed a good bath and deserved a few new pics.
I bought it used in March '10 and it was all stock with 126k on it. A few major mods are the chip from PHP, S&B intake, MBRP 4", Skyjacker 2.5" front springs with 4" rear blocks, and 285 Hankook Dynapro ATM tires . Titan 51 gallon tank, Dieselsite coolant filter, 203 degree thermostat and billet housing and running CAT ELC. Mag-Hytec diff covers front and back, and running Amsoil throughout. Isspro guages inside, Warn lockouts, and Powerslot rotors with Hawk HD pads are the newest mods. I use this truck to pull my 32' foot 5th wheel and this truck is my work horse. It's up to 141k now and has been solid as a rock.

what is cat elc?

Thank you. The CAT ELC is the CAT brand extended life coolant I flushed out the old green anitfreeze with.

ok i have that green stuff in my truck, maybe i should change it also.

nice lookin truck. what is done to your 6.4 and how do the compare towing wise? power and transmission

yes you should, do a good flush to get all the old out first!

The 6.4 has the dpf deleted with H&S Minimax and FloPro 4", AFE intake. other than that its mostly cosmetic upgrades. I do have a 4" downpipe and EGR delete kit ready to go on next time I get back home though. The most I have towed with my 6.4 is only about 8k so far but it handled it fine like the truck barely noticed it back there. Power and shifting is great all the time with that truck. I have the Hot Damn tunes loaded on my tuner though and the egts definitely tried to get up higher if I didn't keep my eye on it. That could be helped easily by putting the normal tunes back on.
The 7.3 feels like I'm riding a turtle after driving the 6.4 for a couple weeks. It's in perfect running condition and turned up just a little bit, but still no match to the 6.4 in the performance department. The 7.3 is solid day in and day out, and I can actually work on it if I need to. It tows heavy no problem and doesn't ever try to run hot, especially running a tow tune on my PHP chip. I love both trucks though. For now the 7.3 is my work truck and the 6.4 is just for play, but someday I may put the 6.4 in to service as my trailer towing truck.

beautiful truck! Was looking for a platinum for the longest time. Never found one with the right mileage/price/condtion. Hence why I have my blue ccsb.
