ts lock up controller, shift kit, and, or tunes

Is the TS Performance Transmission Lockup Controller worth the money for what it does to save the trans? Or would a shift kit be better? Or do custom tunes make the trans shift firm enough to give the trans a lil more life?
I'm planning on doing custom tunes soon and was wondering if the shift kit or the lockup controller was also worth the extra $ as well. Really dont wanna buy a trans anytime soon
