I unhooked the waste gate hose on my truck a few times. The problem is that on the top end, the turbo doesnt like it. I had some bad fluttering sounds out of mine. And thats with the Wicked Wheel. I have also used a manual boost controler on my truck and thats much better than unplugging the waste gate.

Are you sure it's opening? If you don't have a chip it is very possible it can only build 15 psi anyways... especially if you had a very small leak somewhere that could drop 1-2 psi.
I bet if you had a chip you would build 20-25 without it opening... I know I can. It flutters though, gonna have to get a WW. |

what setting are you running your programer at , tow haul , or full race to get 20 + boost???
i have a wicked wheel, fully rebuilt turbo, removed intake air heater, removed that cold weather flap on exhaust side of turbo., 140 IDM, high pressure crossover line, gauges, Muffler is removed and its straightpipe, DIY intake,.. this thing is wide open no restrictions..... |
