4X4 question?

I got the 01 Saturday and put it in 4X4. Now it is a 6 speed manual trans. I am taking it out of 4X4, but the 4X4 light stays on in the dash. Is there a sequence to make this go away? Also the reverse lights are not working. I check the fuses in the cab and under the hood. I am going to try and find something online like a fuse diagram. Love this truck!!!

Do you have a way to check codes on that truck? Both of those switches are monitored by the computer.

I don't yet, but to update I now have it out of 4x4. Or the light is off.

Is it the manual lever 4x4 or switch on the dash?

Hmm, my friend has the manual 4x4 with a 6 speed but the light goes off fine.

(Funny scenario: Put 'er in 4x4 low and put it into 1st gear. (low) Don't lock the front hubs though so it's actually still in 2 wheel drive with the transfer case in low. Now hold the brake and do the slowest burnout known to man. It's pretty funny, spins the tires at about 0.5 mph at an idle)

check on the passenger side of the tranny for your reverse light switch might need to be replaced. happened to mine. its a cheap fix.
