Value of 02 XLT eclb 4x4? Making offer tomorrow (6/6/11)

So, Ive been hunting for another powerstroke and looked at quite a few.

Bank wasn't open Saturday after 2 so I didn't have a chance to make a cash offer on this particular truck.



Truck is a

2002 ECLB 4x4 7.3 XLT. Grey, power everything.

Stock with K&N intake, gooseneck and large Husky toolbox.

Does have ranch hand rear bumper and brush guard.


Truck has 171k on it. Current owner has had it since 54k and is a UPS driver.

Truck is very clean body, interior is very dirty, minimal stains and burns but clean.

Truck needs:

Tires (Bald)
Fluids (I do this every time)
Parking brake assembly (press parking brake and it will not stay down)
Tranmission mount (when you first step on throttle from stop you can feel it shift backwards... I thought tranny mount)

Headlights are yellow and faded bad...

Shocks also feel blown. Truck drove great otherwise.


I'm thinking value of 8k-9k cash.

$8K would be a steal. $9k would be good, I wouldn't pay more than $10K for it. It probably books around $11-12.

Reguardless of what it blue books for, no one these days can drop this kind of cash on a truck with 170k on it. Banks won't finance it.

I sold my 99 CC/SB 4x4 southern comfort conversion for 10,500 late last year with 270k on the clock...

I would say the 8-9k range is all I would pay for it... But I hate EC/LB trucks...

Heck, I bought an 03 CC/SB KR F350 dually for 8500 that needed less than 1k of work with 183 on the clock and a motor with only 30k on it...

If its clean overall, minus detailing, I think you are on the right track with cash...

I bout the exact same truck about three months ago. It was a one owner with 272k on the clock. Just a little bit of the factory installed ford rust was starting to bubble up on the passenger side bed. I give 7300 on the rd for it.
