Inaccurate fuel gauge

My fuel gauge isn't always accurate, I was at 5/8 of a tank this morning but when I drove it, it had shown a full tank. no codes came up. not sure what to do.

Thank you

My 03 6.0 did the same thing constantly.

I needed a new fuel pump float... At that point might as well replace the whole damn thing.

How did you determine it was the float?

Thats why I just watch my miles.... Mine goes about 110-115 before the needle starts to drop. At 420-440 miles it still reads 1/4 tank.

Thank you, was there any codes that came up prior to the repair? hard to find a good diesel guy, if I could find one he would never be thirsty.
