I did the 6.0 Torque converter Upgrade W. pics - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
idk if everyone had to do that. but it makes sense. i still cant see how the 6oh tc is a direct fit onto a 4r100 |

Ours is a direct replacement..how thats easy the front is from a 4r..thats why we charge a core..we need yours back.

Has anyone else done this? Seems pretty easy. I can mod my spacer pretty easily at work.

I have a billet 6.0 torque converter in my 4r100 and it sure helps me take advantage of my low end torque from tuning. Both race and pulling. Mainly because the stall speed is lower plus it is all billet and isn't as subjective to flexing.

any mpg gain? and how much was it? |

I actually didnt see much of a gain maybe .5 mpg when I rebuilt the whole transmission and put im the billet 6.0 converter and tow haul clutches. My transmission was built by circle d transmissions in houston texas. They will build you a converter like mine. I toured their facility and its top notch and they build the converters from scratch in house.

As for how much it was I cant remember just the price on the converter. Bit I would say like 600? The whole job was 4200. Since I destroyed second gear and got upgrades like the converter, better pump and towing clutches...

Stock 6.0 correct..good enough to handle a 450+ HP 6.0..so will be fine for a mild 7.3.

how well does the rest of the tranny hold up with just a 6.0 upgrade?
