2002 Electrical problem?

lately, I've started the motor, tried to roll up the windows, nothing.. radio doesn't work either.. drive down the road and the radio finally comes on, and now my windows work? anyone having this problem or what the heck do I look for to fix this? also, my backup alarm light/button stays lit, press it a couple times and it goes out, but comes back intermittently or when you restart the motor..? of course the backup alarm doesn't work when its lit.. so its useless? and.... if not another annoying item, my overdrive light on the shift lever comes on by itself, you move the shift a little and it goes out, but comes back shortly..? doesn't shift in to overdrive, just the lamp comes on..?

First,

If you fill out your Sig and where you're from, might help in the future as to getting help for any problems you may have.

Second, sounds like you may be having a few problems.

Check all your fuses, make sure they are good.

Next, you really should get it scanned with a good code-reader, like Auto Enginuity, Snap-On, etc. (Generic ones won't work.)

Might be a GEM module issue. Is the truck having any running issues, or just electrical?

Lastly, forget the Backup Sensors/buttons. If one sensor goes bad, it won't work, and will just go into "Off" mode the soon as you put it into reverse. I know 2 of the 4 on mine are bad....and I probably won't be replacing them any time soon.

not sure where I live would have to do with the problem I'm having.. Deer Park, just north of Spokane Washington.. and my cp user info has all of this? are you supposed to put that info in each new thread?

It's just a suggestion. Say someone who lived by you had a scanner and the time to hook up for ya, something like that. If you look in my sig, you'll see that I have a AE scanner....so if someone in the area needed help, they could PM me and I could hook up with them to scan it for them.

Scanned my buddy's explorer here at work, as a matter of fact, lol.

As far as the signature, yes, its in the user CP. It's just so when you post about a problem, someone can see what you have for a truck or mods, to help with diagnosing and problems.

nothing yet, have checked wiring, connections, fuses, .... guess I'll have to go down to the "rip me a new Ford" place and have them scan to see if anything shows... Ford has had these miscellaneous electrical problems since day one, but they won't admit to having a computer problem!.. If you have the ceiling console and it quits, I do know how to fix that problem at least.. someone else mentioned having changed the backup alarm switch fixed that problem, but they also said they replaced it numerous times? that didn't fix the problem then as far as I am concerned, there must be something going on with that also.. ?
