called the mechanic and he said my number 8 injector is coming up weak. my tank needs a new pickup and he can fix my leaking hpop. when replacing an injector do you replace one or all at the same time? thanks for any replys

depends on how much money you want to spend. One is fine. Make sure its failing if you put in a grey cps you can fail the number 8 cct terst and have a good injector. Both my trucks will fail 8 with a grey cps but they run fine

i agree with melmount, either Cam or Crank Position Sensor.

too many mechanics these days just go with what their scanner tells them. although it makes sense, after a while, replacing an injectors and still showing up as weak after a new is one is put in, you would think that would set a flag in their heads.

if it really is bad, just replace the one. IMHO

cam poisition sensor. Theres a recall on them. Ford installs grey ones instead of original black ones. They can throw phantom codes. A lot of peop[e dissaggree with that but I can prove it on both mine.
If you have an engine skip then i am sure its correct 8 is failing. If a cct test says so,.

ok thanks guys. for him to fix that plus my leaking hpop and tank is gonna run me alittle over a grand, not including the price of and injector.

wow 1k, i could buy you an injector and a reman hpop and install it all with a valve cover gasket for that(1k)

Let me put it like this, I have the Grey one, and am probably going to go to the International Black one. From his research, the blue appeared to be the worst, and the Black was the best. (Just more likely to die.) But I would rather have my injectore working correctly and risk a bad CPS than have a injector operating out of range, potentially dammaging the engine components.

But thats just me.... I will be buying the black one and installing it, and keep the grey one in the glove-box as a backup.
