Keyless entry/Remote problem.
I recently bought my 02 from the dealer that came with 2 remotes. They never worked from the get go and will not program at all. When cycling the key from on to off the locks confirm that it goes into program mode but it does not program. I replaced batteries on both clickers and even brought it to the dealer where they tried a whole box of remotes and brought a few brand new ones from the parts department.
Long story short: Truck goes into program mode but will not recognize any remotes. The dealer wants me to drop it off for diagnostics but I'm trying not to lose a couple hundred dollars when I can just get a new alarm and remote start installed or even better fix it myself. Am I missing something? |

Will they at least drop the diagnostics charge since they will be doing the work? I'm assuming they will be doing the work. Seems like they should cover the cost since they sold you the truck with the remotes under the impression that they just need batteries or something, which is what everyone would assume. Can they get in touch,or can you, with the previous owner? A lot of times they slip up and leave some paper work in the truck with persons name.
