engine oil cooler info needed

I bought a oil coler for the motor off ebay. It a factory unit that holds the oil filter. I bought new seals an went to install it. It turns out the ends were different so i could not bolt it to the block. I used my original ends with this cooler. I was wondering are they all the same? It appeared to be the same length. So now I am using the ebay cooler with my original ends pressed on.
The ends from ebay were a bit more small. The cooler would hit the engin mounts. I want to make sure the oil coolers are the same?
