Torque Converter Installation???

Hey guys I'm gonna be swapping torque converters. I bascially know how to do it . But just wanting a step by step guide on how to do it on these trucks. When I read a how-to it makes the job so much easier Is there anything I should take extra care on or any tips to make it easier?

Put some fluid in the converter, keep pushing on the converter as you spin it slowly..make SURE is all the way in! If you can't push the trans flush to the engine take it out and check the converter again..never use the bolts to pull the trans to the engine.

Let us know how it goes, are you renting a trans jack or just using a floor jack?

What happens when you force the TR to the block with the bolts?
I pulled my entire engine this weekend, TC came out a little ways with it ( because I made a very, VERY foolish mistake). I didn't read up at all about torque converter or anything because I was concerned about the engine not the Trans. Now here I am with the new engine in, torque converter is reattached to flywheel, bell housing bolted up but I can't spin my flywheel manually. And Do not know how to proceed.

Any thoughts?

Converter first gets correctly seated in the trans then trans gets bolted to the motor then converter get bolted to the flywheel.

You HAVE to seat the converter first turning it while pushing in the converter so it mates to the splines in the front pump, it can lock in many times and go into the pump farther ea time so keep spinning it and pushing in till your sure its seated.

If you didn't do this first but bolted the trans up to the motor likely you destroyed the front pump.
