Lower radiator hose stupidity

OK, so after ya'll quit shaking your heads at how stupid I am, let me know if you've run into the same problem and how you fixed it.
I serviced my cooling system on my '02 7.3L yesterday...new hoses, serp belt, thermostat, etc....all good, no leaks after driving 25 miles home. Developed leak this afternoon caused by serpentine belt wearing a hole in the new lower hose I just installed.
So, tomorrow I'll be installing a new one and want to make sure I don't muck it up again...guessing I'll be able to give the new hose a twist where it hooks to the engine and clamp it in place with plenty of clearance...right?
