Gear Ratio
I have a 2000 F350 4 door dually 2 wheel drive manual transmission.
Has any of you ever put higher gears in your trucks? When i'm going seventy five or faster the rpms seem almost tapped. Let me know what you guys think. |

if your high on RPM...u would want to go down on gear...not up....
if you have 4.11's...you would want to go to 3.73's....etc.... I cant imagine you dont have at least 4.11's if your RPM's are that high.... |

I have 3.73 on mine with 35" bfg's and I run 2000 rpms at 70mph. I'm switching to 4.30, which will raise my highway rpms but give me more off-the-line response and giddy up. What are you saying is tapped? How many rpms @ what speed?

75mph@2500rpm's is normal for stock tires and 4.10 gears. Mine runs the same.
