CPS Install

In reading some previous threads about Cam Position Sensors, I have to ask this. Is there anything special about the replacement procedure and would it be wise to just go ahead and replace one that's gone 111K?

It's not hard to replace, but is usually a pain to get out. I would just get one to keep handy.

You could replace it just for the heck of it - but i'd just get one and throw it in the glove box like a few people here do as a spare in case your old one goes....

I think there is a write-up in the tech files... I'll try to find it quickly

btw - post up some info on your truck so the guys and gals can know exactly what advise to give ya Welcome to the .ORG!

Hi Big Red 350

Check out Powerstrokeshop.com. They will fix you right up for around $16.00 plus shipping. They are a great place to buy Ford parts. They know what they are doing and pleasant to deal with. Have your vin handy and just give them a call. They will get it right the first time. By the way I have a red one also. Hope this help.

You should be able to just take the part number listed in that replacement thread and that will get you the $27 one... or go to that site the other member mentioned

The cheaper CPS' part # ends in a B. The older (more expensive) ends in A.
