Hard start

Ok guys, did something stupid the other day and ran the truck out of fuel. Now I have the truck running again and runs fine once running and I have a fuel press gauge and showing press is perfect. I have pulled the filter and checked it out. Problem is turn truck over and dosn't want to start. Then on the second try struggles to catch and if I push the accelerator will fire up. What have I done wrong to the truck. Any ideas?

Well starter just rebuilt and still have the same issue. Wouldn't a clogged fuel filter be noticable while driving? Truck runs great just struggles to start up.

Where is your fuel pressure tap, pre or post filter?

Man I wouldnt know. You would think after running it this long it wouldnt have air but you would notice that while driving it also not just the start up. I think you pissed her off You would think the fumes from our $4.00 gold would burn better

Just to update, think I have found the problem. I must have had a failing cps even though no codes and tach would move. I swapped out to my spare and truck fires up lickity split now. Go figure, guess old one starting failing due to me running her out of fuel and cranking on her....... Who know, but she fires right up now.

Well I lied, didn't fix the issue. I put the new cps in this afternoon and seemed fine, but when I got to the gym today did the same thing as before. Had to try it a couple times before she started to run. Any ideas of what the ipr duty cycle is suppose to be to start truck? I am gonna hook the ae up again tomm just not exactly sure what the numbers need to be. I checked then tin nut and it is tight so I am at a dead end again.

I dont know. Looks like no help from the others on this either. Give I think Johnathan a call at BDP and see what he says. At least your truck starts, still waiting for my new IDM.
