Coolant Additive abuse?

Hello,
I'm new here. Thanks in advance for any answers.

I'm shopping for a 1999-2002 F450 Crew Cab Dually to pull my 5th wheel RV. How can I determine whether the coolant system was properly treated with additive? Would the engine need a tear down to be able to check the cylinder walls for damage (makes sense, but a seller would be reluctant, I think).

p.s.: What engine tests should I have performed to check the overall condition of the 7.3 Powerstroke?

What to look for when buying a USED 99-03 PSD

I would just ask the seller if they ever heard of a coolant additive that
goes in the 7.3L, if they look at you funny it is time to walk away. If they
say that they have been adding it then you are good. Dont lead them, just
ask a general question.
