Interesting discovery with dates
While doing some maintennace on my baby on notice something I never paid attention to before.
The door frame sticker says manufactured 12/98, however, my motor says 19 March 99, 3 months later. I'm thinking this motor has been replaced? It's not the original motor? I've noticed several different things as I have worked on the truck. It had been in a accident or something. There was some damage on the intercooler, but radiator was perfectly fine, so it had been replaced. Hood is peeling and revealing it was black before (not black from fire). The foil on the firewall is torn in a couple places, small spots but not matching up to access to nuts/bolts, I'm thinking maybe while putting a different motor in?? It seems the motor would be older than the body I would think, as the motor is put in before they put the body on in the assembly line. Any thoughts?? That I am not sure about as you are right that the engine is placed in the frame before the body is installed. Dont know what to tell ya other then you should get an oasis report done on it.
