Zero Boost

Accelerating on the on-ramp yesterday and I gave it WOT, heard a "poof" and had zero boost. Feathered it up to 65 and drove on to work. At lunch, I noticed that it mad boost, up to 5" then zero again. Ran OK around town but on the highway, no power, black smoke 50mph tops...pissed off a lot of commuters.
EGT went waaay up, like bumping 1,000* unless I backed off. So I am thinking wastegate open(Banks BigHead) but my question is...Is there some other "pop-off" valve that could be stuck open? I unplugged the red wire to the WG and no difference.

I do run a Banks 6-gun, Ottomind, stock everything else. Checked boots, all good, no soot on firewall.

BTW, after I heard the "poof" I could still hear the turbo spool so I don't think it grenaded.

Sounds like you blew a boot off your intercooler/turbo. Check out all the boots.

Problem solved....

OK, I installed a Ford AIS about 9 months ago and folded back some rubber sheeting to clear the plenum and it flapped back. Took off the grille and saw the flap over the intake.....such an Einstein I am.

Good Evening, I installed a 6637 and now I am loosing boost. While I'm driving I can hear it bleed off air when I put my foot in it.

It might just be the noise of the filter. You can really hear the air flowing through it. Unless you have a boost gauge and can tell it lost boost... or if there is a drastic power decrease, I would bet it is just the noise of the 6637.
