CPS problems

Hey, I just wanna thank all you guys who share info about these trucks on here. I was driving down the road today and my truck just died and then it wouldn't restart. Since I've read about the CPS problems on here more times than I can count, I thought of that right away. So I got one from the Ford dealer and got a HUGE suprise! It was $29.00 for an updated CPS that's supposed to cure the problems of the old ones. I had already made plans to run to the International dealer since they had one for $80-100 and I thought that was a good deal coming from a dealer. Good thing I called the Ford dealer first! Anyway, thanks again for all the good info....it saved me tons of time, money, and frustration!

Nope, I didn't, but I'm sure thinkin about it now. I had ZERO warning. The truck had acted just fine up until it died. I was lucky, too. This morning I was pulling a 1000 gallon chemical tank around, but this afternoon I had unhooked it. Coulda been worse!

Can you get the Ford part number for the updated CPS Sensor?
At that price I need to buy a few also.

lol...You bet. The number is: F7TZ-12K073-B. Like I said, it was a little over $29 and the parts guy said they used to be around $170. I read somewhere today that this is a revised sensor that should solve the problems the old ones had. Oughta get the word out about this one!

Does anyone know who makes a performance cps? I saw one with one of the sponsors and lost the link. It looked much nicer with aluminum casing.

Thanks in advance.

I hate to dig up an old post, but what is the difference between the new cps, old cps, and the international cps?
