Low Fuel Light Miles
I was going for a drive on Friday and my low fuel light came on. I managed to drive 33 miles to get to my destination and filled up, after two stops allowing my truck to cool off. I ended up filling up with 29.522 gallons (29 gallon tank) when I filled it all the way to the top of the filler neck. This thread isn't to find out how long these trucks are supposed to go on the light, I really want you guys to tell your stories on how far you went after the light turned on. Who remembers the Seinfeld episode where Kramer took a test drive in a car and they drove it as far as they could before they ran out of gas.
So have at it. How far have you driven after the light has clicked on?

My light comes on when my dome reminder still says 100 miles to empty so i think you can go awhile on these things with the light on!

Many people also call them the Lie-o-meters. Mine says I get 23 mpg when I actually get 16.

This is probably true, because mine says i'm getting 16.2 but i'm really getting 18!

I've owned my truck for 4 years now, and unless I park my truck on a hill with it being low on fuel, I've never ever seen the light come on. I'd be scared to pay for that fill-up.
When I had my F-150, I was dumb and drove nearly 50 miles with the low fuel light on. Dunno how I made it that far. My mom's Jeep and now her Dakota have the instant miles til empty.. it's said 0 several times and she's kept going.

LOW FUEL LITE
Never let my tank go below 1/4, just stirs up any dirt or water on bottom of the tank

funny thing is mine starts faster when its under 1/8 of a tank

I had driven from Sacramento, CA to Bend, OR (~480 miles) + driven around town and up to the snow to play. I was up over 540 miles. The light lit on the way back from the snow. It wasn't too long after I had bought the truck (No overhead console) so I didn't know how long I had left. So...I filled up w/32 gals - I have a 38 gallon tank. Now I know, but have not had the light come on ever again.

When mine comes on I usually have 5 gallons left, I don't go more then 50 miles though unless I really have to. I now have an in bed tank so its nice if I need a little extra range I just turn the pump on and shoot a few gallons in to get me by.
