Exclamation Cabin Lights

When I open the door of my truck its like 50/50 shot to see if the lights will come on. Anyone got any ideas of what could be causing this, its 03 7.3l

If I had to guess, i wuold say its the door switch... the one for the driver door I believe is located at the latch on the door- inside the door, not on the frame like old trucks... To me it sounds like its gotten dirt in it an dnot sliding free- I would suggest cleaning it with part cleaner- plastic safe one, and then lubricae with a silicone spray...

Mine was the opposite- it would stay on and not go off! I have to clean mine about once a year...

Mine was staying on as well...don't know if it's the same thing or maybe a loose fuse. Anyway, here's a link to a thread that helped me fix mine. Door ajar light stays on
I'd try to clean it up with a solvent first then lube it up with WD-40.
