Engine knock observation....

Still trying to figure out this moderate knocking in my 7.3. I noticed yesterday when I started my truck to let it warm up I didn't hear the normal knocking I usually hear near the drivers rear cylinders. I sat in it and it was as quiet as my dads truck. When I returned 10 minutes later the knock was back. Could this be my injector o-rings maybe getting bad. Maybe since the oil was cold I thought if it was the o-rings maybe having thicker oil compinsated for some bad o-rings. As the oil got to operating temps. and thinned out it took the path of least resistence and the o-rings increased that path thus not getting enough oil to help them pop. Am I thinking out of line?

its proably the deadhead banging that fuel starved cylinder but could be lots of things! post a video!

not a full regulated return. that cylinder is the last to get fuel. lowest volume and lowest pressure. i doubt this however. i would lean more to oil pressure. many people use the HPX crossover mod to help with this. assuming thats the culprit anyway. mine isnt that bad and i dont really worry about it.

i have a slight one at idle, can't hear/tell while driving. looking at the adrenaline hpop among other things.

We put a new injector in it (#8) about 6 months ago but didn't make a differance. Oil pressure and fuel pressure are good. Still scares me to think rod, bearing, or rings. But if it were one of the three, wouldn't it knock all of the time?

ya if it was an injector itd knock all the time especially under load. you can try a ragulated return or a fuel rail crossover, could be the hpop is getting weak and thats a worthwhile upgrade on every 7.3 out there. hpx proably wont fix anything like a knock just smoothen out the oil pressure spikes. just looks cool
