auto to manual question

well im thinking about putting a manual in my truck. my auto is starting to act up and torque convertor is rattling. my question is i have a early 99 and cant find any zf6s anywhere and im wanting to buy the whole truck so i know ill have everything i need, will a zf5 work out of a OBS? computer wiring etc. thanks for any help.

me too. there all lots of zf5's round here, but zf6's are hard to come by.

Lol Jarrod that freakin avatar you got makes me hear everthing you say sarcastically.

But anyway. I thought the zf5 was only an option on gassers, but the zf6 came behind all the PSD's? And If the zf5 would work behind the e99, what would stop it from working behind the 99.5+ 7.3 PSD's?

cause of the awsome lower gear that the zf6 had made it badazz enough to drop the zf5. and the 6spd was better overall. was updated and stuff that the 5spds had issues with.

so would i need a computer out of the obs or 99-03. you know if the pettles work also? is it a good transmission, would it be a good idea to use a zf5. thanks
